Organic waste (GFT) and food scraps
By organic waste (GFT) and food scraps, we mean vegetable, fruit and garden waste plus leftover food. This is waste produced while cooking or working in the garden, such as peelings, weeds, leaves and branches. In flats and apartments, we refer to it as organic waste because you usually do not have garden waste.
What belongs in your organic waste (GFT)?
If you keep all your vegetable, fruit and garden waste separate in your green bin, it is turned into compost. Farmers then use this compost to grow our fruit and vegetables! So please throw away your organic waste (GFT) separately and give it a new lease of life.
