There is a problem with the underground container
You are taking your residual waste or organic waste (GFT) to an underground container near you, but it is not working as expected. That is frustrating! We are happy to help you get it sorted.
Good to know: our residual waste containers automatically send a signal when they are (nearly) full or have a fault, so we can head out to fix it as quickly as possible. Handy, right?
What applies to you?
Is the opening blocked or damaged?
Sometimes the opening gets blocked because waste is stuck. Do not try to fix it yourself, but report it to us instead. We will sort it out.
Does the container not respond to your ACV pass?
It can happen that the container does not open when you scan your pass. An error message will usually appear on the screen. Is your pass broken or is the container not responding to it? Please get in touch with us.
ACV pass not workingIs the container visibly damaged?
Does the container have visible damage, such as a broken lock or an issue with the flap? Report this to us straight away. Our service team will drop by for a repair or replacement.
Is the container full?
Your waste does not fit or there is waste left next to it.
Is the container actually full, or is the opening jammed?
A container that looks full is sometimes simply blocked at the top by a large box or a stuffed bag. Push the flap all the way open again; if it gets stuck, it is a blockage rather than a full container.
Is there waste next to the container?
Leaving waste next to the container is not allowed. Let us know where it is. Do not leave your own bag there: loose waste attracts pests and you could even get a fine for it.
Is there another container nearby?
The containers in your neighbourhood are emptied on different days, so a container a street away is often still empty. Check the map to see which containers are closest for your type of waste.
