Bins

Many people have different bins for separating their waste. Very convenient! These bins are on loan to you from ACV. You can contact us if your bin is broken or missing, but also if you want a larger or smaller size.

Different bins

At ACV we use different types of bins. You can tell which type of waste goes in by the colour of the lid:

  • Brown lid - organic waste (GFT)

Fruit, vegetable and garden waste and food leftovers.

  • Blue lid - paper and cardboard

Newspapers, boxes and other clean and dry old paper.

  • Orange lid - plastic, metal and drink cartons (PMD)

Plastic packaging, tins and drink cartons.

  • Grey lid - residual waste

What is left over after separating waste.

At events you will see our bins with purple lids and for business waste we use bins with a yellow lid. On the waste collection page you can read which bins are used in your municipality.

Request, swap or return a bin

Is your bin missing or is your container damaged? Then you can request a new one from us free of charge. You can also request an extra bin or change the size. A fee of 30 euros per bin applies for this. When requesting an extra bin, please bear in mind that you will also have to pay more waste tax.

You can easily arrange your wheelie bin request yourself using this form:

There was a tag on my bin

Our drivers and Clean Neighbourhood Coaches sometimes hang a tag on your bin. For example if it is left outside for too long, the container was not put out in the right place, or if you did not put the correct waste in the bin. The bin tag usually states what you need to do and whether you need to contact us.

Are you unsure what does and does not belong in the container?
